Systemic Altruism
Changing Our Gears or COG, is a community-based project to develop social awareness via the participatory philanthropic acts of society. The main objective was to design one sustainable aspect of countywide improvement that could serve as a template for counties across the United States by developing a system of design.

Instead of distributing traditional currency, the COG system replaces and eliminates the necessity of a cash based transfer amongst those in need. Each COG tube of tokens is able to be purchsed at a local supporting retailer, distributed as an altruistic act to those in need, and exchanged for transportation on any PSTA line. To help generate public interest, posters were created and placed around Pinellas county bus lines to inform members of how COG’s can assist those in need. Thanks to our public and corporate sponsors, we are able to share our core values of bringing together the pinellas county community by spreading generous acts of kindness.
